The COMANDO network has been present at the SICUR fair as one of its first outreach activities
May 13, 2026The COMANDO network has been present, alongside the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV), at the 25th edition of the International Security Fair (SICUR), held from February 24 to 27, 2026, in Madrid, in one of its first public dissemination actions. The presence at this event has allowed the network’s objectives and activities to be introduced to companies, institutions, and professionals in the field of security and prevention.
SICUR is the main meeting point in Spain for the comprehensive security sector. Held biennially, it brings together companies, associations, public administrations, and professionals from both the public and private sectors to share knowledge, present innovations, and analyze the main challenges of the sector. In this edition, the fair featured hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of professional visitors, establishing itself as a key space for technology transfer and networking in areas such as physical security, cybersecurity, fire and emergency safety, and occupational safety.
In this context, the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) has been present with a stand where visitors could learn firsthand about its services, R&D projects, technologies, and specialized training programs aimed at the sector. This space also served as a platform to present the COMANDO network, a Network of Excellence in Dual Technologies for Resilience and Integration of Autonomous Systems in Multidomain Environments, aimed at strengthening national technological sovereignty in defense and security. The initiative promotes the development and validation of multimodal autonomous systems —aerial, terrestrial, and maritime— such as UAV, UGV, and USV, in a context where autonomous mobility is consolidated as a strategic priority due to the convergence of AI, robotics, and secure communications.
Participation in SICUR has allowed for the establishment of contacts with companies, technology centers, and public organizations interested in collaborating on future initiatives, as well as disseminating the network’s lines of work. Additionally, the event has facilitated the exchange of experiences and the identification of cooperation opportunities in a constantly evolving sector, where emerging technologies expand the capabilities of prevention and response to risks and threats.
With this first presence at an international reference forum like SICUR, the COMANDO network takes an important step in its visibility and connection strategy with the security ecosystem, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and collaboration among sector agents.
